Canterbury Earthquake Emergency Response
Location: Christchurch
After the tragic Canterbury Earthquake on February 22nd, IPENZ called for volunteers to assist with the Civil Defence state of emergency response. ACH responded by sending a number of our senior Chartered Professional Engineers with Intermediate level engineering assistants to Christchurch, on a rolling rotation covering a number of months.
The swiftness and selfless contribution made by all the volunteer engineers has been formally recognised by IPENZ with the 2011 President's Award, Fulton-Downer Gold Medal, being presented collectively to this group in a ceremony in Christchurch.
ACH was honoured to be presented with this award, and have continued to provide investigatory and remedial design services in Christchurch to those in difficult post-earthquake situations, both directly to property owners and through insurance companies and the EQC.
