STormwater for Residential subdivision

ACH Consulting was engaged to provide stormwater mitigation and treatment for a multi-lot residential subdivision in Glen Eden. Volume and treatment was required for all the shared and individual driveways. The adopted design philosophy was one of green infrastructure, as it generates a multitude of environmental, ecological, socio-cultural and economic benefits, and places value on the connection and interaction between waterways within the urban environment.

Individual raingardens were utilised to achieve the requirements of both the operative district plan and the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan. The raingardens combine and protect the hydrological and ecological values of the urban landscape while providing resilient and adaptive measures for mitigating and treating stormwater particularly in the instance of intensive development. As these raingardens mature they will continue to add amenity value with very low maintenance.
